Personalized Coat Hangers.

Here's a cutesy little project that I made all by my lonesome!  I needed somewhere to hang keys, backpacks, and jackets, rather than them always being thrown on the floor or the coffee table (grrrr!). 

I'm not sure if  I 100% like these or not.  In retrospect I wish that I'd have just gotten black and white 8x10 pictures printed out and just had the pictures, but I guess it personalizes it just that much more to have each persons name and stickers that are relevant to them. 

The whole project cost me about $15, so it was fairly cheap and yes, they actually get used!  I should have made one for the dog so that we can hang his leash on it, but I ran out of wall.  Hehe.

Hooks $6 for 4 at Home depot.
Pictures $0.20 each at Walmart.

We finally did it!!!

Lance and I are homeowners!!!  We moved into our new home last week and have been busy at work ever since.  I've painted the bathroom from an ugly blue to a nice light tan color that matches all of my bathroom accessories perfectly, and now I'm in total reno mode! 

There's definitely lots to do in this house, so I'll be posting updates as we go along.  We are gonna do the "pay as you go" method though, so it might take a while to complete each room as we don't want to have to take out any loans!  Smart kids, aren't we? :D

More than one???

A friend reminded me of something that I had forgotten a few days ago.

IVF = Multiple births.

Could you imagine?  Well, I'm sure Trish could, but wow... That's a lot to think about!

Bummed out.

I had my follow-up appointment with the surgeon yesterday, and even though he had said earlier that my right tube is suitable for reversal, he said that he doesn't think it'll be very successful.  He said that i'd only have a 60% chance of becoming pregnant after and doesn't feel that is a high enough chance, so he's suggesting in-vitro fertilization.  Needless to say, I had nightmares about it all last night. 

Why would a Dr suggest that I have my tubes tied at 22 years old, when I only have two children?  I understand that they wanted to do it for medical reasons and they had exhausted all of the other options, but why would they cut the tubes so short that reversal is unlikely?  =(  I was young and unmarried. 

I guess I need to read up on IVF a little more so that Lance and I can make informed decisions to see if we're going to try that, or stubbornly go ahead with a reversal that may not work and could cost us $6000.  *cry*

Happy Friday the 13th!

I decided to start a blog for two reasons... One, because Trish put the idea in my head, and two, because I want to have a non-facebook place to journal about the many changes that seem to be happening in my life right now.  So here goes...

I have two beautiful children, they are 11 and 13 years old.  I had my tubes tied 11 years ago and pretty much thought that I was done with this whole chapter of my life… Until I met my boyfriend.  Over the past few years I’ve been questioning the possibility of having my tubes untied, and on May 10th, I went for diagnostic surgery to see how possible it is.  The surgeon is able to untie my right tube, but the left is too damaged from the strangulated ovarian cysts that I had back when I was 18.   I have a follow-up appointment in two weeks and I’ll find out more then.  I know it’s going to cost about $5000 to get the reversal done.  Yikes!

On a side note.  I just did my first sneeze since having the surgery.  That was not a fun feeling!
